Easter 2024 Christ’s Forgiveness

Our forgiveness of each other within Jesus church flows from the heart of Jesus Himself. The seven statements of Jesus from the cross highlight the priorities that flow from His bleeding heart for God’s glory and man’s salvation. The first statement is one forgiveness and the fourth statement—the only mentioned in Matthew—connects His heart beat to Psalm 22 and His work of substitution. Jesus forgave humanity by taking their place on the cross. I am forgiven because He was forsaken.
